About Ariel
Well hey y'all!
I'm Ariel!
I'm just a girl with big dreams and lots of ambition who talked her husband into buying ALL THE ANIMALS! He loves me, really! He does! I mean who else's husband is just going to start buying up all the animals because his wife said, "oh babe they're so cute and they make milk!"?
One day a very very long time ago, ( okay now I'm making myself seem REALLY old.... I'm NOT that old! haha) I wanted to be a veterinarian. I have seriously loved animals my ENTIRE life! But.... I found out that veterinarians have to euthanize some animals and my huge heart just couldn't handle that sadness. (Eerrrrr! Stop! Revert! Revert! ) I changed my career decision pretty quickly. Who am I kidding, no I didn't. I was all discombabled and your average confused teenager and still had no clue what I wanted to do with my life!
It wasn't until just recently that I realized what I want to do with my life. What would make me happy and feel like a have a career and not just your average Joe, 9 to 5, have to work to make a living kinda' job. My husband and I knew we wanted land when we went on our three year long search for a house to call home, and neither of us knew the possibilities that my mind would come up with for the property once we found it. Seriously, it's like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory in there! I am a living breathing idea machine!
The property was almost all woods and was nothing but a downhill slope so there had to be some changes made before we could really get things going but... You know me, or at least from the last 3 paragraphs you probably should by now! I got all these amazing ideas to build a garden, then to get some animals, and make some enclosures, and to build this crazy cool wrap-around porch, and this awesome swimming pond and the list goes on! It's respectively longer than Santa's naughty and nice list!!! Whoops! We are probably going to be fixing this property until our great grandchildren are old enough to take over! Ha, Not really, but it IS a lot of work!
Now as a family of 5 we live everyday as farmers milkin' goats, raisin' rabbits, catchin' chickens and getting into all sorts of crazy situations. Check out our farm and see all the wild things we've been getting ourselves into over the last year!
Why we chose "Good Time Holler"
We LOVE to entertain! Whether family or friends we just enjoy the company and making people happy. We bought a six acre lot down in a valley up on a hill with a massive holler for a back yard so add that to always wanting to have a good time with friends and family and new people we've just met.... TADA we bring you GTH! 'Round here we always have a good time while we are gettin' things done! Why farm life? Um.. Hello.... AnimalsStarting our very own farm opened our eyes to what farmers go through, where our food was actually coming from and how many non-organic ingredients we were consuming, causing us all so many ailments.
Having goats we are able to give our youngest child dairy products that she can easily consume without tummy issues (and we're talkin' full on blow out from BOTH ends. TMI, I know, but it is what we were dealing with!)
Not being raised around farm like structures made it so easy to put where the food came from (other than at the store) out of mind. I learned that there are more than 20,000 varieties of tomatoes alone, not to mention, all of the other vegetables and fruits we regularly consume. I felt so sheltered when my eyes opened to all the possibilities of things I could grow. Of course I had to try my hand at as many as I could, so each year our garden grows with as many new varieties as we can possibly see fit to testing out. It's kinda' addicting.
I love to research as much as I can about animals and all things gardening and foraging and even holistic healing practices! The more I learn the better in my opinion!
I hope while you are here you find at least one article that will help you with something and if not you'll at least enjoy reading our story and learning about our crazy family!
Speaking of Family...
You can never have too many friends... Right?
We are people-people so we kinda' just click with everyone! I love to hear other's stories. Your journeys and triumphs as well as your failures. ( I won't laugh, I promise... I have a TON of failures, too). I want to know all about your dreams and share mine with you! If you want to own all the goats or just want to grow some mint, I'd love to hear about it!
If you too would like to be FRANDS then I'd love for you to join me on Instagram and Youtube where I post pictures and videos of our everyday lives almost daily!

HEALING
I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember and seen doctor after doctor, and tried pill after pill, only to find they haven't helped and have even caused some pretty crazy side effects. After years of trying to coop all by myself, and lots of book reading and research, I found holistic ways to ease the symptoms and better my chances at fighting it. These tips and videos are not meant to heal you or stop any illnesses or diseases but they did help me so maybe you'll find some comfort and inspiration from them.
